2022年夏天，PREP凭借他们对 Harry Styles 的热门单曲《As It Was》的精彩演绎，在全球获得了数百万次观看。同时，他们也是目前在亚洲最受欢迎的西方乐队之一，他们在亚洲各地的大场地演出，并影响了像 HYBS 这样的乐队。PREP近年来曾与多名优秀的亚洲音乐人有过合作，例如：韩国人气乐队Adoy、韩国男歌手DEAN和美国著名放克吉他手Cory Wong等。

PREP在挖掘当代 R&B 和电子音乐的同时，聆听70年代末和80年代初柔和、纯粹的声音，一些听众将其称为游艇摇滚。PREP 是一种流行音乐，即使您以前从未听过，但也感觉耳熟能详。

将陈旧的流派曲调与现代声音融合在一起的新鲜感是该乐队独特背景的产物。Llyweln接受过作曲和钢琴方面的古典音乐教育；Guillaume 兼职担任制作人和 DJ；Dan创作嘻哈音乐；Tom是流行音乐界的一名作曲家。从 Steely Dan、Michael McDonald 和 Bobby Caldwell 等艺术家那里汲取灵感，PREP以雇佣乐手的方式将演出阵容扩大至6人编制，以此来完善他们的现场表演，打造更丰富的合奏。他们的首次巡演在一周内就售罄，他们还与Massive Attack和TV On The Radio乐队在BST海德公园同台表演。

PREP fuse elements of R&B, electronica, funk, and jazz into a melting pot of blissfully-styled pop PREP are one of the most popular Western bands touring in Asia at the moment selling out huge venues all over Asia and influencing bands like HYBS. With their delightful rendition of Harry Styles’ hit single “As It Was” they got millions of streams world wide. 

In 2015 the four members of PREP came together to cut deep grooves that mine contemporary R&B and electronica while hearkening back to the soft, sheer sound of the late ’70s and early ‘80s—what some listeners have retroactively dubbed yacht rock. The love for that style united vocalist-lyricist Tom Havelock, keyboardist Llywelyn Ap Myrddin, drummer Guillaume Jambel, and producer Dan Radclyffe. PREP is pop music that feels tip-of-the-tongue familiar even though you’ve never heard it before.

The freshness of fusing well-worn genre tunes with modern sounds is a product of the distinct backgrounds that make up the group. Llywelyn has a classical music education in composition and piano; Guillaume moonlights as a house producer and DJ; Dan produces hip-hop; and Tom works as a pen-for-hire songwriter in the pop music world.

Taking inspiration from artists like Steely Dan, Michael McDonald and Bobby Caldwell, who used session musicians to build a rich ensemble sound, PREP have been honing their live show with an expanded 6-piece live band. Their debut show sold out within a week and they also supported Massive Attack and TV On The Radio at BST Hyde Park.
